Peter Wright: A new psychology for men?

Excellent post by Peter Wright about men’s psychology. The problem, states Wright, is that mental health professionals are often taught “that men are incorrigibly flawed and require a dismantling of their identities, habits, and preferences before being reconstructed according to a feminist model of masculinity”.

But Wright offers a solution.

  1. Thank you for turning me onto this. It’s long past time that we investigate men’s experiences based on the circumstances that have and do shape us, that our responses be viewed as part of a system, with measurable components and interactions, rather than having cheap, lazy, inaccurate and bubble-gum “castration anxiety” sort of evaluations.
